CH Series: High Speed Precision Engine Lathe #
The CH Series is KINWA’s general-purpose high-speed precision engine lathe line. It is designed for stable manual turning, easy operation and long-term reliability in workshops, maintenance departments, tool rooms, mold shops, technical schools and high-mix low-volume production.
The series includes three models. CH-400 and CH-430 use spindles with 51 mm and 58 mm bore respectively, while CH-530 provides a larger 532 mm swing. All models share the same mechanical design features: a hardened and ground Meehanite bed, automatic and manual forced lubrication, an adjustable oil distributor, a safety starting lever and an emergency foot-operated brake.

Shared Mechanical Features #
- Hardened Meehanite bed — The bed is made of Meehanite cast iron, hardened and precisely ground to HS 70.
- Forced lubrication — An automatic and manual forced lubrication pump supplies oil to the cross slide and bedways.
- Adjustable oil distributor — The distributor can be set to lubricate the bedway, the cross slide, or both.
- Safety starting lever — The starting lever includes a safety device.
- Emergency foot brake — A foot-operated braking system allows immediate stopping.
- Threading and feeds — 36 feed changes, metric and inch thread ranges, and a 35 mm leadscrew with 4 TPI / 6 mm pitch on CH-400.
Typical Applications #
The CH Series is suitable for general metalworking, repair and maintenance, tool and die work, technical education, component manufacturing and high-mix low-volume production. For heavier workpieces, consider the CHD Series; for large and long workpieces, consider the CHK Series.
