Long Shafts and Large Workpieces #
Long-shaft and large-workpiece machining is a core part of KINWA’s product positioning. The company’s CHK manual lathes and CL flat-bed CNC lathes are built for workpieces that exceed the capacity of standard lathes.
The CHK-860 and CHK-1020 can be ordered with between-centers lengths from 1,500 mm to 8,500 mm depending on spindle taper, and offer Ø860–Ø1020 mm swing. The CL-58, CL-68 and CL-78 flat-bed CNC lathes cover between-centers lengths up to 7,200 mm and spindle bores up to Ø530 mm.
Typical Parts #
- Long shafts and line shafts
- Rollers and guide rods
- Large-diameter pipes and tubes

- CL Series - Flat Bed — CNC turning with large bores and long beds.
- CHD Series — Medium-length shafts and larger diameters.
Selection Notes #
For long workpieces, check the maximum between-centers length, the maximum workpiece weight, the spindle bore and the available steady-rest options. For large diameters, check the swing over bed, swing over carriage and swing over gap.
