KINWA Lathe is the lathe brand of CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO.,LTD., a Taiwanese manufacturer focused on the development, production and global sale of manual lathes and CNC lathes. The company began in 1968 when founder Mr. C. F. Chang started a machining business in Taichung City with a single lathe. In 1973 the company began building lathes as CHIN HO Machinery Factory, and in 1980 it moved to Daya District and was reorganized as CHIN HUNG MACHINERY CO.,LTD.

More than half a century later, KINWA continues to design and build lathes in Taiwan. The product range covers high-speed precision lathes, heavy-duty precision lathes, large heavy-duty lathes, gang-type CNC lathes, slant-bed CNC lathes and flat-bed CNC lathes. According to the company, more than 600 lathes have been exported to Japan and more than 4,000 to the United States.

KINWA organizes its lathes into two main categories, each with several series:

Manual Lathes
#

  • CH Series High Speed Precision Engine Lathe — High-speed precision lathes with 406–532 mm swing over bed, 51–78 mm spindle bore and 5 HP main motor. Suited to general machining, repair, tool rooms, education and high-mix low-volume work.
  • CHD Series Heavy Duty Precision Lathe — Heavier 560–760 mm swing lathes with 86–104 mm spindle bore and 10 HP main motor for larger workpieces and heavier cutting.
  • CHK Series Heavy Duty Precision Lathe — Large lathes with 860–1,020 mm swing, 105/153 mm spindle bore and between-centers lengths up to 8,500 mm for long shafts and large components.

CNC Lathes
#

  • CL Series - Gang Type — Compact gang-type CNC lathes CL-10 and CL-100 for small, high-volume and polygonal turning work.
  • CL Series - Slant Bed — CL-220, CL-250, CL-280 and CL-320 slant-bed CNC lathes with 8–15 inch chucks and bar capacity up to 115 mm.
  • CL Series - Flat Bed — CL-650, CL-38, CL-58, CL-68 and CL-78 flat-bed CNC lathes with large spindle bores and long between-centers capacities.
